One of the great things about reading through the bible in a systematic way is that you come across verses that just jump out at you for one reason or another. Here is a great reference from Ecclesiastes 10:2 that some might try to apply to the political realm:
“A wise man’s heart directs him toward the right,
but the foolish man’s heart directs him toward the left.”
Seems pretty clear to me! (Just kidding)
